Special Suppression Systems
Special suppression systems use a chemical or clean agent gas to control or suppress the fire, this type of system is used where water is inappropriate or where water could cause irreparable damage to the contents being protected. The special suppression system operates similar to a standard sprinkler system, the suppressant is stored in pressurized containers that are connected to the piping system and when the system is activated the piping is flooded and the agent is released through a nozzle to either flood the room or onto a specific piece of equipment.
